During the U.S. Open, Australia's Nick Kyrgios accrued $32,500 in fines,

including $14,000 for his racket-smashing outburst following his defeat to Russia's Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals.

After Tuesday's five-set loss to Khachanov, Kyrgios shattered his racket.

Throughout his time in New York, Kyrgios received five fines in total, including penalties for using foul language and spitting.

The penalty are deducted automatically from his earnings, which came to $473,200 ($28,200 for doubles and $445,00 for singles).

The maximum fine imposed at the U.S. Open this year was $14,000 for a single infraction.

Kyrgios had accrued more fines than any other current player before to the Open,

According to Australia's The Canberra Times, who estimates that he has accrued around $540,000 in fines over his career.
