Why Tua Tagovailoa's physician was fired today.

The independent neurotrauma expert who examined Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for a concussion last Sunday

against the Buffalo Bills was fired by the NFL Players Association on Saturday.

In support of its decision, the NFLPA highlighted a number of concerns, including "his incapacity to comprehend his job as UNC and antagonism during the investigative process."

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network stated that according to the NFLPA, the independent neurotrauma consultant simply did not speak for "the best interests of the players."

The league's head, neck, and spine committee assigns each independent neurotrauma specialist.

Both the NFL's chief medical officer and the NFLPA's medical director have given their approval. Drs. Thom Mayer and Allen Sills.

On Friday, Tagovailoa issued a statement addressing his health. Fortunately, he feels much better now.

Timetable for Tagovailoa's return has not yet been provided by the Dolphins.
