TikTok may soon have a new method of making money from its big US fan base.

Social media sites like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter are renowned for looking into every conceivable revenue stream.

All of these services rely on advertisements, while some of them also have paywall elements.

For its US users, TikTok in particular is apparently planning to test out a different revenue method.

Users of the short video sharing platform may soon have access to a new feature dubbed TikTok Shop, which will allow them to make purchases within the app

while viewing live feeds. The idea of a TikTok Shop is not new to the platform. It is already accessible on Douyin, TikTok's Chinese sibling app.

According to The Financial Times, between May 2021 and May 2022, Douyin sold an astounding 10 billion things from nine million e-commerce broadcasts each month.

TikTok may be collaborating technologically with American company TalkShopLive to make TikTok Shop a reality in the US. It is difficult to predict whether

TikTok will modify the virtual shopping experience for the US market in light of UK failures until the company officially announces Shop in the US.
