Strange World: Disney Transports a Family to a Vibrant Sci-Fi World
This Thanksgiving, Disney will release "Strange World," their newest animated feature.
Qui Nguyen, the author of "Raya and the Last Dragon," and director Don Hall both made appearances at the D23 Expo in Anaheim to show off the new trailer.
In the trailer, the brave explorer Callisto Mal pays a visit to the Clade family, inspiring them to embark on an amazing journey beyond their modest farm to find new discoveries.
Jaeger (Dennis Quaid), the family's patriarch, was a well-known explorer who vanished years ago, thus Searcher (Jake Gyllenhaal), the family's head of household, is hesitant to go.
However, Ethan (Jaboukie Young-White), Searcher's son, jumps at the opportunity because he has always yearned for a life outside of the farm where he has been confined.
In a sneak peek clip that was shown at D23, Jaeger is introduced to his grandson as they flee with Searcher for their lives from
weird creatures with the aid of Meridian, Searcher's wife, and the other adventurers, much to his amazement (Gabrielle Union).
As grandfather and grandson, Jaeger and Ethan get along immediately quickly, but Searcher and his father haven't changed their differences through the years.
The two are now in grave danger as terrible animals close in on them, forcing them to put their differences aside.
