Report: Title sponsor departs from the Dubai Desert Classic

According to a report in The Guardian, the logistics firm Slync, which had previously suspended Chris Kirchner

as its former chair and chief executive, has withdrawn as the title sponsor of the Dubai Desert Classic.

Kircher founded Slync in 2017, and as part of a multi-year agreement, Slync started sponsoring the competition early this year.

"We have achieved a deal with Slync about the termination of their agreements with us for various DP World Tour properties,

including the Dubai Desert Classic title sponsorship,"A DP World Tour representative said.

We anticipate the 2023 edition, which will be held at Emirates Golf Club from January 26–29, as the competition will continue to be a part of the Rolex Series.

The DP World Tour will be hurt by losing the headline sponsorship of a competition with a $8 million prize pool,

but CEO Keith Pelley was optimistic about the Tour's future before last week's BMW Championship, denying suggestions that it was turning into a feeder tour.
