Report: Nine-Figure Contract Between Charles Barkley and TNT
The NBA analyst will allegedly have a 10-year contract with the network. There is no sign of Charles Barkley leaving anytime soon.
According to Andrew Marchand of The New York Post, the member of the Basketball Hall of Fame has reached an agreement on a new 10-year contract with TNT to continue
hosting Inside the NBA. When Barkley's contract was about to expire in three years, TNT extended it by seven years to keep him and the network together for another ten years.
Marchand claims that if Barkley stays with TNT for the duration of the contract, the deal's value will exceed $100 million and may even approach $200 million.
According to John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal, TNT has also reached new agreements with Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson.
All four of the Inside the NBA personalities for the network are therefore committed for the ensuing ten years.
Barkley allegedly said he would consider participating in LIV Golf's coverage during the summer if paid a "astronomical" quantity of money.
In a July appearance with The Dan Patrick Show, Barkley stated that TNT was "silent" about a new contract at the time and that he had talked with LIV Golf commissioner Greg Norman.
