Prior to the Presidents Cup, Tiger Woods sends a message.

Tiger Woods, a 15-time major champion, will not be competing in the 2022 Presidents Cup. The 12-man American team, though, will have his support.

On Wednesday, Woods tweeted about the many wonderful memories he has of playing for former Presidents Cup teams.

However, he also made use of the occasion to advertise his upcoming TGL circuit with Rory McIlroy.

"One of the best aspects of playing golf as a team is the opportunity to create relationships that will last a lifetime.

I enjoyed playing on U.S. #PresidentsCup teams, and I'm looking forward to bringing the team dynamic to @TGL with @McIlroyRory."

Although Woods' post has received 500 likes in less than 15 minutes, many comments point out that the

TGL may have been inspired by the LIV Golf Series rather than the Presidents Cup

Team golf competitions have been a feature of the sport for a long time, but the LIV Golf series has truly elevated them to the fore.
