Miguel Sapochnik, the co-showrunner of House of the Dragon, retires before the second season.
Miguel Sapochnik is leaving his position as co-show-runner of the Game of Thrones spin-off, according to Deadline.
Ryan Condal, who co-created House of the Dragon and acted as co-show runner alongside Sapochnik in Season 1,will now take over as the only showrunner.
Condal will continue to collaborate closely with the rest of the production crew as well as series co-creator George R.R. Martin.
Along with Vince Gerardis, Sara Hess and Jocelyn Diaz will continue to serve as executive producers.
Alan Taylor, a Game of Thrones expert, will also join as a director and also exec producer on the 2nd season of the show.
Taylor said, Ryan, Miguel and George have launched an extraordinary story, in a rich and fascinating world.
Sapochnik said.“It was incredibly tough to decide to move on, but I know that it is the right choice for me, personally and professionally.
I wish Ryan and his team success and all the best with season two and beyond.”
