Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia pull out of the BMW PGA Championship.

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the BMW PGA Championship was cut from 72 to 54 holes,

but veteran DP World Tour players Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose won't be taking the course this weekend.

Rose, who had a first-round score of 73, announced his withdrawal from the DP World Tour's marquee competition due to a back ailment.

Garcia, who had a first-round score of 4-over 76, did not, however, give any explanation for quitting.

After choosing to join LIV Golf this summer, the Spaniard has experienced his fair share of controversy with his home tour,

even threatening to renounce his DP World Tour membership and, thus, his Ryder Cup participation.

Garcia won't be making any more appearances on the DP World Tour in 2022,

but he will compete in the fifth LIV Golf tournament at Rich Harvest Farms in Chicago the following week.

Along with them, Nino Bertasio, Kristoffer Broberg, and Ryan Fox have pulled out of the BMW PGA.
