If Mac Jones is unable to play, Bill Belichick names the starting quarterback.

During this past Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, Mac Jones, the quarterback for the New England Patriots, suffered a significant high-ankle sprain.

He was observed walking off the field clearly in pain.Jones' ankle injury has been reported to cause him to miss a number of games.

The Patriots haven't yet declared him ineligible to play this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, though.

Bill Belichick, the head coach of the Patriots, delivered an update on his quarterback situation during the team's press conference on Wednesday.

In the event that Jones is unable to play, Belichick assured the media that Brian Hoyer will start for the Patriots.

Jones, on the other hand, has repeatedly affirmed that he is approaching his recuperation day by day.

Jones hasn't had the best September, for sure. The Alabama graduate has 786 passing yards in three games with two touchdown passes and five interceptions.

In the upcoming days, the Patriots will have to decide if Jones will play in Week 4.
