Freshman QB Devin Brown of Ohio State loses his black stripe.

Brown is the 16th recruit in the Ohio State Buckeyes' 2022 class to lose his black stripe.

Following practice on Wednesday night at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, Ohio State freshman quarterback Devin Brown lost his black stripe 

that served as a marker of his position as a team member.Director of player development C.J. Barnett remarked to the group, 

"This guy is a natural-born leader. He has been hard at work, taking care of business both on and off the field."

At Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon, where he set a state single-season record with 4,881 passing yards and 57 touchdowns, Brown was a former four-star prospect 

who later transferred to Columbus.Along with leading the Chargers to a trip in the state title game, he also ran for 430 yards and eight touchdowns.

In the victories over Toledo and Rutgers, he replaced starter C.J. Stroud and backup Kyle McCord for 15 fourth-quarter snaps, passing the ball on each play.

Brown said to his colleagues, "I appreciate you guys welcome me to the brotherhood.
