Danica McKellar, explains why she studied math and stopped acting

Danica McKellar, the actress who played Winnie Cooper in "The Wonder Years,

she left acting to study a career in math and now explains why.

Draco, McKellar's youngest son,  recently interviewed her for ET and asked,

What do you remember most about those years?

McKellar said "What I remember most was juggling between being an actress and doing my homework,"

it was difficult to balance work and school.

Draco asked why did you decide to take a break from acting and become a mathematician?

She said "I went to UCLA, but when I got to college, wherever I went, people all over campus were screaming

Hey, Winnie!' or 'Hey, I loved you in 'The Wonder Years!' and "I couldn't get away from it.

So I needed to discover my worth away from Winnie Cooper, and math was challenging and I did it well.

McKellar became an acclaimed mathematician. she has written 11 children's books on math.
