One of the college football coaches with the longest tenures is Mike Gundy, head coach at Oklahoma State. Additionally, he enjoys the greatest regard.

Since 2005, Gundy has been driving the charge at Oklahoma State. He has been with the program for 17 seasons, making him the head coach with the 

second-longest tenure in collegiate football.Mike Gundy has made Oklahoma State into one of the more prestigious teams in college football during his time there.

With the exception of his first season, he has guided them to bowl games each season during his tenure.

Gundy reportedly admitted that he had three head coaching interviews with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Oklahoma State beat reporter Kelly Hines. 

But in the end he realized he liked the collegiate game better. Gundy was awarded an additional eight years at Oklahoma State after deciding to remain there.

Gundy has since been granted further extensions. He is now the Big 12's highest-paid coach and has a deal with Oklahoma State that runs until 2026.

Gundy and Oklahoma State have a 5-0 record through the first five games of the season. According to the most recent AP Poll, they are now the eighth-ranked team in the nation.
