An update to Trent Williams' replacement after Jimmy Garoppolo's horrific injury to the 49ers

Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers have lost another key offensive line player.

Trent Williams, an All-Pro left tackle, was lost to an ankle sprain and is no longer available, therefore his replacement is also out.

Colton McKivitz was acting as the starting left tackle in Williams' absence. McKivitz will also be out, which is awful for Garoppolo and the entire 49ers offence.

McKivitz suffered a sprained MCL during the 49ers' victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. He will be out of commission as a result for some time,

forcing the 49ers to fill another offensive line position. An injury-riddled season has plagued the 49ers. Due to second-year quarterback Trey Lance's season-ending ankle injury,

Jimmy Garoppolo has taken over the starting job. This season, tight end George Kittle has contended with injuries, missing the first two games.

With a damaged MCL, starting running back Elijah Mitchell is currently on injured reserve.

The group is now 2-2 and displayed impressive dominance in Week 4. Against the Rams, both the offence and defence played well.

Garoppolo has previously shown that he is capable of leading this club. And he might wind up repeating it this season.
